Halloween cards 2017

These are my two cards for Halloween. I would of loved to make more but was sick for a few weeks and I worked. I did these two cards on my two week break.

I used one of the Tim Holtz Halloween dies. It was a challenge. The paper I used is a few years old but I did find one that was similar by Reminisce. The stamp is from Graphic 45 Clear Stamps HAPPY HAUNTING.
I stamped on an orange cardstock using purple ink. Forgot the name of the background stamp, but I think any cool stamp would do. I used a deep plum ribbon from a chocolate shop. On the sides of the card I used Modge Podge with orange fine glitter mixed in. The image is a digi stamp.

Snow and Sparkle Thistle

Ingredients:

Dry thistle
Blue and white paint
Very fine clear or white glitter
Glue spray for scrapbooking (or something similar)
Medium and small paintbrush to get into hard to areas of the thistle
Newspapers

Instructions:

Make sure you clean your thistle before painting them. I painted the tops of the thistle a very light blue (mixed white and blue) and the rest white. I let it dry overnight. Next, I place the newspapers down on the floor and place the painted thistle over it. I spray glue the tops (I do not spray glue the whole “branch”) and immediately glitter lightly each thistle. Do one at a time so you don’t have to redo them.

Note: you can do this on pine cones and acorns (or anything else that would look attractive). Also, my photos don't do justice as they are very pretty, sparkly and look like snow.

Glitter Napkin Technique

 Finished Card
Supplies:

Napkins
Dazzling Diamonds
Heat and Stick Powder
Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (double sided stick)
Card Stock
Scissors

Getting ready to stick napkins on double sided sticky sheets.

Instructions:

Cut Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to the size that you want. Remove strips to reveal sticky side and put on your card stock (or other heavy duty paper). Smooth out the adhesives to get rid of bubbling. It has to be a smooth surface to work on.

Now get your napkin and remove all the extra layers. Napkins typically come in 2 ply or 3 ply. Peel off the adhesive and position and stick the napkin on top.

Use your Versamark glue pad and gently “stamp” your napkin. Make sure you covered your whole surface with the glue. I used a circle die to cut the image below.
Next you will take a small spoon and distribute the Heat and Stick Powder all over the glued napkin. Then take your heat tool and go over the whole surface until it is clear/melted. Don't heat too close or too long. When you start seeing the image it is done. Then you sprinkle the dazzling diamonds on top of the wet surface. Use the heat tool again so it blends in permanently.

Trim it to your liking and put it on your card. Look at the difference between the "normal" napkin colors versus the "dazzling diamonds" napkin. I love this technique!

Close up of finished card.

Important Note:
Heat and Stick Powder and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (double sided stick) have been discontinued. The two items down below are substitute's.
